Season 2010/11

October 25, 2010 No Comments by Matt

The new season is fast approaching and there will be a slight new look to es-ride this winter. Our team in Zermatt headed up by Gibo will be the same as last winter with Liam Printer back from a seasons training in New Zealand.
The Verbier team will be different this year. Kato is side lined due to injury , we wish him a speedy recovery. Dave is going to be working for UBS in Zurich until mid January, don’t forget us Dave and good luck to James who has left for Innsbruck after 8 winters in Verbier, you will be missed.
Matt Spragg has been promoted from part timer to full timer, and will be riding and working hard getting ready for his level 3 at the end of the season. We welcome Frankie Melgund who is a usual feature at TC in New Zealand. He’s both NZ and BASI qualified and is looking forward to both coaching and riding some of the epic backcountry Verbier has to offer. Ozzy Craig will be back part time and we’re just confirming another part timer.
We are keeping the same sponsors as last winter so the team will be wearing Analog outerwear. After the success of the Head boards from last winter we will be working with Head again.
Numbers are looking good for the trainee instructor courses and it looks like we will have two courses running in Verbier again this winter. The first course kicks off at the end of November and the second starts end of February and runs through until the end of the winter. Last winter was a real success for our trainee programme with Peak Leaders with a really high pass rate. We have definitely sealed the reputation as the school for running the highest quality product in Switzerland.
New website will be up shortly (www.es-ride.com)
