Last April seems like such a long time ago? You’re itching to get back on your board now and can’t wait for Verbier to reopen! To make the wait a little easier, we have been to the Ski &Snowboard show in London to get a preview on this season’s new gear and vibe. An epic couple of days!

Spring 2011

The winter has been a huge success here at es-ride. The new team members have been working great throughout the season and have made a big impact with all their clients and with resort staff, well done lads….
Good to have Dave B back on the hill and getting into his riding again. This time its without the watch that dislocated his hand while doing a backside 720 in the park…
The last month of the season will see another Peak Leaders group go into the BASI level 2 exam , fingers crossed for 100percent pass rate like we had with the group back in January and Febuary. Good luck to everyone.
Every Wednesday afternoon until the end of the winter there will be free park coaching for everyone and anyone in the La Chaux Snowpark in Verbier. Let’s hope temperatures stay low so it keeps the park in good condition. Best time to ride the kickers at the moment is between 10am and 2pm

Mid January

Both Verbier and Zermatt have seen the holiday period come and go. The snowboard school has been busy throughout this period with all the team out on the mountain instructing.
Snow conditions are good in both resorts with a nice covering on lower slopes and good snow at Altitude. The Mont Fort glacier and Mont Gele have great snow at the moment .
The Peak Leader Snowboard group in Verbier are getting closer to exam time with around 20 hours of coaching left on the hill. All the group are riding super strong and are in a great position for their BASI level 2 exam.
The Snowboard School team in Verbier are beginning coaching towards their BASI exams at the end of the winter. Matty is stepping up towards his Teach and Tech and Frankie is going for his freestyle performance coaching module.
The Verbier snowpark is taking better shape with some great new kickers and boxes.

All our es-ride snowboard instructors in both Verbier and Zermatt are super busy coaching on the mountain. Conditions at altitude are still great with good snow on the Mont Fort glacier in Verbier.

The Peak Leaders trainee instuctor group are getting some very useful shadowing time with Les Elfes. Everyone is looking forward to the trip to the Thyon Snowboard Park on Thursday for some freestyle coaching.

Kickers…..

The Verbier park is at last beginning to take shape. There is a red table in the middle of the park that leads into a new butter box feature which is just above the hut area. The Park crew have also constructed a new kicker on the bottom roller. For all you stuntmen and ladies the swatch air bag is pumped up and ready and waiting!!
Craigy had a little trip to Thyon mid week to check out park conditions out in the four Valleys . They seem to have constructed a nice black kicker as well as some nice box features and a lovely barrel !!
All the Peak Leaders crew are riding super strong and Magnus is looking great in his new Bonfire jacket!!!!
Bring on Christmas and some new snow Santa….

Verbier Snowpark up date….

No new features in the La Chaux snowpark. A lot of snow has been pushed around and it looks like a few new lines could be in order for the winter. The same rail line is up with rainbow to flat box with the battleship at the end of the line. Two smallish blue kickers run alongside the rail line. Fingers crossed for some kickers. If you fancy getting involved in the park or want to improve your all mountain freestyle come and get a session with of one of our freestyle coaches in Verbier or Zermatt.

Christmas week begins…..

Festive times have come round again, and conditions in both Verbier and Zermatt are looking great for the holiday season. Runs into the resort are all covered and snow at altitude is fresh and deep.
Well done to all the Peak Leaders trainee instructors who all passed their level one BASI exams on Friday. The guys are all pumped to be instructors and are looking forward to shadowing the es-ride team during the busy period ahead.
‘yes’ Snowboards put on a great night at the Wonder Bar and our very own Frankie M is out shredding with Mr JP Solberg himself at the moment, let’s hope he can pick up some of that double cork stuff…….

Mid December

Cold…
Conditions on the mountain are good at the moment. The lower runs are getting fairly icy in the afternoons.
The snow park has a box line. Consisting of a rainbow rail to flat box to battleship. With more snow on the way we are hoping for some kickers to be built shortly.
All the team are in resort with a lot of lessons being delivered for the lodge, Chalet Kernow and the new Chalet no.14.
The Team in Zermatt have also been busy getting some early season bookings.
The Peak Leaders trainee instructor group are in the middle of their BASI level one exam. Good luck to everyone.
Es-ride will be offering performance coaching to seasonaires and locals every Wednesday afternoon. This will mainly consist of freestyle coaching in the Snow park. Everyone is welcome…… If you are interested get in touch robnorton79@hotmail.com or phone me on 0792838735.

Verbier is now open with good snow cover up top. The trainee instructor course has kicked off and the group are getting stuck into the BASI product getting prepared for the level one exam in ten days time.
Matty has arrived in resort and we are already taking lessons on the hill.
The jackets have come back from the printers and are looking sweet with new tags on both the back and arms of the jacket.
Bars and clubs are beginning to open and resort is starting to fill up with new arrivals everyday.

Freezing temperatures across Europe have bought loads of snow to both Verbier and Zermatt. The lifts in Verbier are opening tomorrow morning and judging by the amount of snow in the village conditions up the hill should be sweet.
The first Peak Leaders trainee instructor group starts on Monday morning and it will be straight down to business getting everyone ready for the level one exam in two weeks time.
The new Analog uniforms are at the printers getting tagged up and the new website is in its final stages.
All the team are getting ready for the winter. Matt and Frankie should be out by the end of next week. Fingers crossed Dave is going to finish his bank job , he must be looking forward to getting back on the board full time.
Gibbo is taking a little holiday back to Blighty after the autumn in Saas Fee for new shirts, highlights and a new set of wheels… and Liam is still on the hunt for housing in Zermatt.
No sign of Ozzy Craig but I’m sure he is still surfing somewhere…..
Bookings for snowboard lessons are looking good for the holiday period , so book now to get the best snowboard instruction in both Verbier and Zermatt.
